Event Crowd

I'm interested in discussing the issues around leadership of small businesses, strategy, competitive advantage, decision making, mentoring for ourselves and our key managers, etc.

Face to face discussion is my preference, so if you share an interest in meeting up, learning and talking about how to develop ourselves and improve our business lives, let me know.

P.S. Getting together should be fun, not so serious or formal. I've also attached a recent file from Donald Cooper you may find interesting.

Hi Kent, this is a subject very close to our hearts. Our business was built on team work and developing our guys - most of whom have worked their way up from onsite as crewmen.

We are proud to be at a stage now where we have an experienced and incredibly capable senior management team who are all on the same wave-length - it makes work fun and rewarding. We love it.

Happy to discuss it anytime - come over to our new office and meet the team!

Great talk in Daventry, by the way.

Hi Ken, I enjoyed your presentation in Daventry and read the Cooper PDF with interest. Having run my own exhibition business for 19 years there comes a time when you have to decide do you want to remain as the "Window Cleaner" or actually own the "Window cleaning business?" Most owner occupiers of SME's (in my opinion) fail to realise that they need to position themselves so that the business has an intrinsic value "without them". This can only be achieved by strong leadership, Infrastructure, strategy, effective decision making and team work. I now work "on" the business not "in" it and both myself than the company is a lot healthier!

Hi Kent

I thought you might be interested to know that the Government is funding training for management and leadership development. If you are a company with between 5 and 249 employees you can claim upto £1000 for leadership training or coaching. If you want any information on this do let me know (it took a lot of digging through Government departmetns to get the right info!)
