For those of you joining us in the early stages please let us know what does and doesn't work for you. This is a community so it's up to all of us to shape it collectively.
Right here goes with my view on Web 2.0 stuff like social networking. There is a danger that people log in once - link to a few friends and then never log-in again - how many of you have a dead myspace, linked in or facebook account? For a small targeted social network like this one there needs to be constant use and growth. Firstly the web address eventnetworking.ning.com needs to be published everywhere. If you want to help add the address to your email signitures and your websites (obviously Simon exhibitingshow.com would be a good one). Secondly we need to ensure new content is uploaded - photos, blogs, videos etc - new content creates interest and repeat visits. Lastly - What Simon do you want to achieve via this network? What are it's goals? Who can join? Who can promote it? Do you want retain total editorial control or let the community police itself? With enough people you can create a great online community where people feel relaxed about asking for help, advice or even supplier recommendation.
So everyone add more data, invite external people and get networking!
